How All Types (五門齊) works
A hand that includes all five categories of tile: characters, bamboos, dots, winds, and dragons.
The four sets and the pair together must contain at least one tile from each of the three numbered suits plus at least one wind set and one dragon set. Because honors must appear, this pattern is incompatible with single-suit hands and overlaps naturally with honor-based pungs. The 'five gates' name refers to representing every tile family in one hand.
