How Concealed Kong and Melded Kong (明暗槓) works

Holding one concealed kong and one melded (exposed) kong in the same hand.

The hand declares two kongs, one formed entirely in hand and one completed using a claimed tile. It is a set-composition fan that rewards the specific pairing of a hidden quad with an exposed quad. It combines with the individual kong fan and with pung-based patterns, while the concealed kong also carries its own concealed-set value where applicable.

Good to know
  • Exactly one kong is concealed and one is melded.
  • Counts alongside the relevant single-kong fan for each quad.
  • The concealed kong retains its concealed-set treatment.
