How 2 han 20 fu is calculated
Riichi payouts start from base points: fu × 2^(2 + han). For 2 han 20 fu that is 20 × 2^4 = 20 × 16 = 320 base points. Each win type then multiplies the base and rounds the payment up to the nearest 100:
- Non-dealer tsumo — dealer pays2 × 320 = 640 → rounds up to 700
- Non-dealer tsumo — each non-dealer pays1 × 320 = 320 → rounds up to 400
- Dealer tsumo — every player pays2 × 320 = 640 → rounds up to 700
Hands that commonly land here
Exactly one hand shape lives here: pinfu + menzen tsumo with nothing else attached. Pinfu locks the fu at the 20 base and tsumo supplies the second han, which is why this score only exists as a self-draw.
- 20 fu only occurs with pinfu + tsumo, so this score is tsumo-only — a pinfu hand won by ron scores 30 fu instead.
