Pure Seven Pairs — all seven pairs in a single suit.

How Pure Seven Pairs (清七对) works

Pure Seven Pairs is a winning hand of seven distinct pairs, all of which belong to a single number suit.

Instead of the usual four sets plus a pair, the hand is built as seven pairs, and every pair must be drawn from the same suit. It merges the seven-pairs special shape with single-suit purity, so it carries both qualities at once. If one of the pairs becomes four identical tiles it upgrades into the dragon variant rather than remaining a plain Pure Seven Pairs.

Good to know
  • Because all tiles share one suit and Sichuan uses no honors, the hand is confined to a single number suit after the voided suit is discarded.
  • Seven pairs is a non-standard shape and cannot also be decomposed as four sets plus a pair for scoring.
  • Upgrading any pair to four matching tiles converts this into the dragon seven-pairs pattern.

Pure Seven Pairs (清七对) — FAQ

Do the seven pairs need to be seven different tiles?

Yes; in the standard reading the pairs should be distinct, and identical pairs are instead read as a four-tile dragon.

Can Pure Seven Pairs win on a discard?

Yes, the final pairing tile may be self-drawn or claimed from a discard, as long as the completed shape is seven pairs in one suit.
