How Tsuiisou (字一色) works

Tsuiisou (all honors) is a yakuman in which every tile is an honor — only winds and dragons, no number tiles at all.

The hand consists entirely of wind and dragon tiles arranged as triplets and a pair (and, because only honors are used, it is necessarily an all-triplets shape). It works open or closed. It frequently overlaps with yakuhai, toitoi, and sometimes shousangen or the four-winds yakuman within the same honor-only hand.

Good to know
  • Zero number tiles — the entire hand is winds and dragons.
  • Inherently all-triplets, so it also overlaps with toitoi and yakuhai.
  • Can co-occur with shousangen, daisangen, or the four-winds yakuman depending on the honors used.

Tsuiisou (字一色) — FAQ

Can tsuiisou contain a run?

No. Honor tiles cannot form runs, so an all-honors hand is always composed of triplets and a pair.

Does tsuiisou stack with dragon or wind yakuman?

Yes. If the honors also form daisangen or daisuushii, those yakuman can combine with all honors for an even larger score.
