How All Honors (字一色) works
A hand made entirely of honor tiles — only winds (East, South, West, North) and dragons (Red, Green, White), with no number tiles at all.
Every set and the pair consist of honor tiles, formed from pungs or kongs of winds and dragons plus an honor pair. It is a high-value structural hand because honors cannot form chows, so the hand is necessarily all triplets. It naturally overlaps with all-pung and terminal/honor fan, which are absorbed under MCR's non-repeat rule.
Good to know
- •No suited number tiles may appear anywhere in the hand.
- •Since honors form only pungs/kongs, the all-triplet character is implied.
- •Outside-hand and terminal-honor related fan are subsumed and not added separately.
All Honors (字一色) — FAQ
Can it include a chow?
No. Honor tiles cannot form sequences, so the hand is entirely pungs or kongs plus an honor pair.
Does it have to use all seven honor types?
No. It only needs four honor sets and an honor pair; it need not include every wind and dragon.
