How All Terminals (清么九) works
A hand made up entirely of terminal number tiles — the 1s and 9s of all three suits.
Every set must be a pung (or kong) of 1 or 9 in characters, bamboo, or dots, with the pair also being a terminal. No honor tiles and no middle numbers appear, distinguishing it from All Terminals and Honors. Because terminals cannot form runs, the hand is necessarily all-pung in structure.
Good to know
- •Differs from All Terminals and Honors, which permits wind and dragon tiles alongside the 1s and 9s.
- •Being all 1s and 9s, the hand is inherently composed of pungs, so chow-based fan cannot apply.
- •Related terminal/outside-hand fan that this shape implies are folded in and not added on top.
All Terminals (清么九) — FAQ
