Prevalent Wind (圈風刻)
2 fan
A pung of the round (prevalent) wind. Tied to the current round of play.
Example winning hand
Winning tile: 9m
How Prevalent Wind (圈風刻) works
A pung (or kong) of the wind tile matching the current round's prevailing wind.
The hand contains a triplet of the wind that governs the current round of play, such as East in the East round. It is awarded for the round wind specifically, separate from a player's own seat wind. If a player's seat wind also matches the round wind, the same triplet can satisfy both wind awards.
Good to know
- •The wind must match the round's prevailing wind, not the seat wind.
- •A kong of that wind also qualifies.
- •When seat and round wind coincide, both wind awards apply to the one set.
Prevalent Wind (圈風刻) — FAQ
How is this different from the seat-wind award?
This counts the round's prevailing wind; the seat-wind award counts the player's own position wind.
Can a kong count?
Yes, a kong of the prevailing wind satisfies the requirement just as a pung does.
