Self-Drawn (自摸)

1 fan

Winning by self-draw on an open hand. (A closed self-draw scores Fully Concealed Self-Drawn instead.)

Example winning hand
Winning tile: 7s

How Self-Drawn (自摸) works

Completing the winning hand by drawing the final tile yourself rather than claiming a discard.

This bonus applies when the last tile needed to finish the hand comes from the wall on your own draw. It does not apply if the winning tile is claimed from another player's discard. It can combine with most other patterns and with special draw-based wins.

Good to know
  • It requires the winning tile to come from the wall, not from a discard.
  • It cannot apply to a hand won by claiming an opponent's discard.
  • Special last-tile-of-the-wall wins are distinct, higher patterns, not this basic self-draw.

Self-Drawn (自摸) — FAQ

What disqualifies a Self-Drawn win?

Winning on a tile discarded by another player; the final tile must be drawn from the wall to count as self-drawn.

Is self-draw the same as winning on the last wall tile?

No. Drawing the very last tile of the wall is a separate, higher-ranked pattern, while basic self-draw applies to any normal wall draw that completes the hand.
