How Seven Shifted Pairs (連七對) works

A concealed hand of seven pairs in a single suit where the pairs run as seven consecutive numbers, such as 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 pairs all of one suit.

This is a special form of Seven Pairs in which the seven pairs are not random but form an unbroken numerical sequence within one suit. It must be fully concealed and uses no melds or chows. Because it is built on the Seven Pairs framework, the Seven Pairs fan itself is implied and not scored again, and the single-suit and concealed nature interact with related flush and concealment conditions.

Good to know
  • Requires one suit only and seven consecutive number values (e.g. 1 through 7, or 2 through 8).
  • It implies Seven Pairs and Full Flush, which are not counted separately.
  • Honor tiles cannot form a consecutive run, so this pattern is impossible with honors.

Seven Shifted Pairs (連七對) — FAQ

How is this different from ordinary Seven Pairs?

Ordinary Seven Pairs allows any seven distinct pairs; here the seven pairs must be consecutive numbers all in the same suit.

Can the run be in mixed suits?

No. All seven pairs must belong to a single suit for the shifted-pairs sequence to hold.
