How Upper Four (大於五) works
A hand built entirely from the higher number tiles 6, 7, 8, and 9, with no tiles of value 5 or below and no honors.
Every set and the pair uses only ranks 6 through 9 in the suits. Chows are limited to 678 and 789, and pungs may be of 6, 7, 8, or 9. The restriction to the upper range inherently excludes lower numbers and all honors, and it pairs with no-honors conditions.
Good to know
- •Only tiles 6, 7, 8, 9 are allowed; nothing 5 or lower and no honors.
- •Permissible chows are 678 and 789 only.
- •Contrast with Lower Four (1-4) and Middle Tiles (2-8).
