Self Draw (自摸)
1 fan
Self-draw bonus — winning by drawing your own tile from the wall.
Example winning hand
Winning tile: 5m
How Self Draw (自摸) works
Winning by drawing the final required tile yourself from the wall rather than claiming an opponent's discard.
Self Draw is credited when the tile that completes a hand is one the winner draws personally, not one discarded by another player. It applies on top of whatever hand structure was completed and is a common timing bonus. The drawn winning tile is still a number-suit tile from one of the two non-void suits.
Good to know
- •Self Draw is about how the winning tile was obtained, so it can attach to almost any qualifying hand.
- •It does not apply when the winning tile comes from a discard, which is a different completion method.
- •The completing tile, like all others, belongs to a number suit and respects the voided-suit rule.
Self Draw (自摸) — FAQ
Can Self Draw combine with other patterns?
Yes. It is a timing bonus layered onto the hand's structure, so it stacks with most other completed patterns.
Does Self Draw apply if I win on a discard?
No. By definition the winning tile must be self-drawn from the wall, not claimed from another player's discard.
