Example winning hand
Winning tile: 9m

How Dragon Pung (箭刻) works

A pung (or kong) of any one dragon tile — red (中), green (發), or white (白).

A triplet of dragons is an honor-tile set that scores regardless of which player holds it, since dragons have no seat or round dependency. Each dragon pung is counted on its own, so multiple dragon triplets stack. Collecting two dragon pungs plus a dragon pair builds toward Small Three Dragons, and three dragon pungs reach Big Three Dragons.

Good to know
  • Every dragon pung scores; two or three in one hand are tallied separately.
  • Two dragon pungs and a pair of the third dragon escalate the hand into Small Three Dragons.
  • A dragon kong qualifies exactly as a pung does.

Dragon Pung (箭刻) — FAQ

Does it matter which dragon I triplet?

No. Red, green, and white dragons all earn the same dragon-pung credit since none is tied to seat or round.

Do two dragon pungs each score?

Yes. They are counted individually, and together with a pair of the remaining dragon they also form the larger Small Three Dragons pattern.
