How Last Tile Draw (海底撈月) works

Winning by self-drawing the very last tile available from the wall, completing the hand on the final draw of the game.

Known poetically as 'scooping the moon from the bottom of the sea,' this bonus is earned when the winning self-drawn tile is the last drawable tile before the wall is exhausted. It is a winning-condition faan that layers on top of the hand's structural value. It complements the self-draw bonus, since the win is by definition a self-draw.

Good to know
  • Applies only to a self-drawn win on the final wall tile, not to winning on someone's last discard.
  • Winning on the last discard instead is the separate 'last tile claim' (海底撈) pattern at tables that recognize it.
  • It stacks with the ordinary self-draw bonus, as the final-tile win is itself self-drawn.

Last Tile Draw (海底撈月) — FAQ

Does claiming the final discard count for this?

No. This pattern requires self-drawing the last wall tile; winning on a final discard is a different bonus.

Can it combine with the self-draw faan?

Yes. Because the last-tile win is achieved by drawing, the self-draw bonus also applies.
