How Full Flush (清一色) works
An entire hand built from a single suit — all characters, all bamboos, or all dots — with no honor tiles.
Every tile in the four sets and the pair comes from one of the three numbered suits, and no winds or dragons appear. It is a stronger relative of the half-flush, which permits honors alongside one suit. The single-suit restriction often combines with sequence- or pung-based awards that themselves do not require multiple suits.
Good to know
- •No honor tiles are permitted; presence of any wind or dragon downgrades it.
- •Distinct from half-flush, which allows one suit plus honors.
- •The whole hand, including the pair, must share the same suit.
Full Flush (清一色) — FAQ
Can full flush include a dragon pung?
No. Any honor tile breaks the single-suit requirement and the hand becomes at most a half-flush.
Does the suit matter — must it be a particular one?
No, any one of the three numbered suits qualifies as long as it is used exclusively.
