How Pure Shifted Pungs (一色三節高) works

Three pungs in the same suit whose ranks step up one at a time, such as 3-3-3, 4-4-4, 5-5-5.

Each successive pung is one rank higher than the previous, and all three are in a single numeric suit. The shifting-by-one progression of triplets is what defines it, distinguishing it from chow-based shifted patterns. It pairs naturally with pung-heavy hands and contributes its own single-suit triplet structure without separately scoring generic same-suit fan it already implies.

Good to know
  • Three same-suit pungs at consecutive ranks (n, n+1, n+2).
  • Differs from Pure Shifted Chows, which shift runs rather than triplets.
  • Commonly appears within All Pungs hands.
