Reversible Tiles (推不倒)

8 fan

Every tile in the hand is rotationally symmetric: select pinzu (1,2,3,4,5,8,9p), select souzu (2,4,5,6,8,9s), and White Dragon.

How Reversible Tiles (推不倒) works

A hand made entirely of tiles that look the same when rotated 180 degrees — the symmetric dots, bamboos, and the white dragon.

Every tile and the pair come only from the set of point-symmetric tiles: certain dots (such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9), certain bamboos (such as 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9), and the white dragon. No characters, winds, red, or green dragons may appear, since those are not reversible. The pattern is purely about tile shape, and the qualifying suits and tiles are fixed by which faces are visually symmetric.

Good to know
  • Only the reversible dots, bamboos, and white dragon are permitted.
  • Character tiles, winds, and the red and green dragons are excluded.
  • It is a visual/shape-based pattern, independent of run or triplet structure.

Reversible Tiles (推不倒) — FAQ

Why is the white dragon allowed but not the others?

The white dragon's face is symmetric under rotation, while the red and green dragons are not.

Are character tiles ever reversible?

No. Character tiles bear written numerals that are not point-symmetric, so they cannot appear in this hand.
