Two Concealed Kongs (雙暗槓)
Two concealed (self-drawn) kongs plus a normal meld and a pair.
How Two Concealed Kongs (雙暗槓) works
A hand that includes two kongs, both of which were declared concealed rather than from a claimed tile.
Two of the four-of-a-kind sets must be concealed kongs, meaning all four tiles were drawn into the hand and declared without claiming a discard for the kong. The remaining sets and pair complete the hand normally. This naturally implies the lower concealed-kong fan and stacks with concealed-pung patterns since concealed kongs count as concealed pungs.
- •An added (exposed-to-kong) or claimed kong does not count toward the two.
- •Concealed kongs also count as concealed pungs for the three-concealed-pung family.
- •The lower single-concealed-kong fan is implied within this pattern.
Two Concealed Kongs (雙暗槓) — FAQ
What makes a kong concealed for this pattern?
All four tiles must be held and declared without claiming a discard; a kong formed by adding to an exposed pung or by claiming does not qualify.
Do these kongs also help with concealed-pung patterns?
Yes. Each concealed kong counts as a concealed pung, so two of them contribute toward concealed-pung fan as well.
