All 2/5/8 (将将胡)
All 2/5/8 — every tile in the hand is a 2, 5, or 8. A rare middle-tiles hand.
How All 2/5/8 (将将胡) works
All 2/5/8 is a winning hand in which every tile is a 2, 5, or 8, so all sequences and groups are built only from these middle 'general' numbers.
Each set must consist solely of the numbers two, five, and eight; because those ranks are not contiguous, no run can be formed and the hand is restricted to triplets, kongs, and pairs of those values. Because it severely limits which tiles can appear, it pairs naturally with single-suit and all-triplet hands that also respect the 2/5/8 restriction. It is named for the 'general' tiles, the central values of each suit.
- •Honor tiles are absent in Sichuan, so the restriction applies cleanly to the number ranks 2, 5, and 8 across the suits in play.
- •Since 2, 5, and 8 are not consecutive, qualifying hands rely on triplets, kongs, and pairs rather than sequences.
- •It commonly combines with Pure One Suit when all the 2/5/8 tiles fall in a single suit.
All 2/5/8 (将将胡) — FAQ
Can this hand contain any sequences?
No; 2, 5, and 8 are spaced apart and cannot form a run, so the hand is made of triplets, kongs, and the pair only.
Must all three suits be represented?
No; the tiles just need to be ranked 2, 5, or 8, and they may come from one suit or be spread across the suits the player still holds.
